Connecticut : Administration

Connecticut is the 29th state of U.S and was admitted to the U.S union in 1788. Connecticut is located in the New England region of northwestern United States. The legislation of the Connecticut state consists of three branches: the executive, the legislative and the judicial. The Governor heads the executive branch in addition to the governor and the lieutenant governor there are several other officers in the executive branch which are elected by voting like Secretary of the state, Treasury, Comptroller and Attorney General. The term of each officer is of four-years. The second branch is the legislature which consists of the General Assembly. The General Assembly is divided into two parts the upper house or the Senators having strength of 36-members and the lower house or the House of Representatives consisting of 151 members. The Supreme Court of Connecticut is highest court in the state headed by the Chief Justice. The Supreme Court is responsible for deciding on the constitutionally of the law cases as they relate to the law.

Department of Social Services: The Department of Social Services provides assistance to the elderly, people with disabilities, poor families and individuals who need assistance for achieving better living based on independence and self reliance.

Department of Transportation: The Department of Transportation constructs and maintains means of swift movement of people and goods across and within the state. Highways, roads, railroads and other means of transportation are prime responsibility of the department.
